Kaylee's First Christmas!

Kaylee would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Sorry it's late, but we've been quite busy these days (continue to the bottom of this post and you'll see why). We had so much fun sharing in Kaylee's first Christmas and loved watching her with all of her gifts. Of course her Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles spoiled her rotten!

She loved playing with the wrapping paper just as much as the gifts!

Here is Kaylee opening up a present.

And here is the reason that we have been so busy...we bought a house! Yeah! We're quite excited about it. We moved in on the 22nd and so it was a very hectic holiday for us. But we're happy to be close to family and Kaylee will grow up close to grandparents. The Lord has blessed us so much this year! May you each have a happy, prosperous new year!

She's Crawling!

This has been a fun week for us! Kaylee has decided that she wants to wake up during the night and cry. Silly girl. She just misses her daddy, I suppose. But Kaylee now has 6 teeth (four on top, two on bottom), weighs 19 lbs., and is crawling. She's growing up so fast it's amazing. We love her so much and are very excited for her first Christmas!

Here are some pictures that we took a while back in Kaylee's Christmas dress.
What a happy family!

She loves taking her shoes off!

Has anyone ever played the trick on someone sleeping where you put their hand in warm water? Well, it seems that every time we put Kaylee in the bath tub, she can't resist the urge to let it flow! Of course we can't let her bathe in dirty water, so this is Kaylee playing in the sink while daddy re-fills her bath tub with water.

Hey! Who took my dentures?!

Scary Santa!

No new posting in 3 weeks? The Christmas Season is definitely upon us. We had our ward Christmas party on Saturday. Recognize the guy in the middle? Look closely, some of you may know him. Anyway, Kaylee wasn't too excited when Daddy threw her on Santa's lap....better luck next year!

Thanks to Gramma for the pretty bow and dress...

and cute ruffle tights!

Kaylee has an obsession with table legs. They're the first thing she goes for when we put her on the ground. Does anyone else's baby do this?

And look! She's starting to crawl! We're still waiting for her to string together a couple of real good strides. Then we'll call it official.

The whole Thomson (and Bowen) clan came down to Long Beach for Thanksgiving. Once again, we are grateful to Holly's parents and grandparents for letting us make a ruckus! Kaylee just got right in there and stole the show!

Here are some more cute pictures from last month.

And check out the hair she's got now!

Visit From Grandma!

We were all so excited this week to have a visit from Jared's mom, but not as excited as Grandma, I'm sure. It had been about 4 months since she had seen Kaylee and babies sure do change a lot in 4 months! We had lots of fun and Kaylee ended up stealing Grandma's heart! We miss you already! Come back soon!

Here is a picture with both Grandmas.

Kaylee enjoyed making a mess for Grandma too!

Yea! All done!

She wasn't quite as excited about eating her peas.
And look closely - you can see her two teeth!

She tried mighty hard to get that toe...good thing she didn't bite it off!

A Veterans Day Tribute

We are so very grateful for our Veterans! We attended a special program on Friday night at our church that paid tribute to the Veterans who have sacrificed so much in our behalf. We can not imagine having to go through all that they did in defense of our country. We owe them all a tremendous debt of gratitude! Thank you all so very much!

We especially want to thank Kaylee's two Great Grandpas, Larry Flint and John Thomson. Thank you both so very much for all of the sacrifices that you made that allow us to enjoy the many freedoms that this great country has to offer. We love you!

Here are some pictures of Kaylee's Great Grandpa Flint, who served in the Marine Corps in WWII.

Kaylee's First Halloween!

Wow! We have so much to share since our last blog. Of course, we had to post some Halloween pictures. Now we're a little biased, but we think that Kaylee makes a pretty darn cute ladybug! We definitely think that she's cuter than the little boy ladybug we saw out trick-or-treating. Hello! it's a 'lady' bug! Anyway, she seemed to enjoy it all and we got some great pics too!

Kaylee also went to the doctors last Friday for her 6 month check up (she will be 7 months on Sunday!). She weighed 17 lbs 14 oz. and was 26" long. This placed her in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. And some more exciting news...she's got teeth! She's got two little pearly white ones poking through her bottom gum. It's quite exciting and helps us realize how fast she's growing up (as if we needed another reminder). Here is the 6 month picture we had taken. She's wasn't too fond of the photographer though - hence the absence of a smile!

Kaylee got this outfit from her Grandpa and Grandma Thomson. Thanks!

Mommy and Kaylee were messing around one morning.

And we just love this dress!

Green Beans

I think that everyone out there has a vegetable that they just hate. Me - it's cooked spinach. Just thinking about it makes me want to...well, you get the idea. Ever wonder what your first reaction was to your oh-so-hated veggie? It's pretty fun watching Kaylee try new foods for the first time. She wasn't a big fan of the green beans (as you can see below). Surprisingly she likes green peas and squash too. That's as far as we've gotten so far. I can't wait to give her fruits! I'm sure that she'll love them. But for now she gets to enjoy the veggies.

Dad! What in the world is this garbage! Are you trying to kill me or what?

She was doing a little better towards the end.

Here's a short video of the experience...

Kaylee loved playing with this Jack-o-Lantern. She's got quite the cute little costume all picked out for Halloween too! Stay tuned for pictures to come!

Now where's all the candy that comes along with this season?

Kandid Kaylee

We couldn't pass up taking pictures of Kaylee in the bath this week. She just has so much fun! She's chasing after a rubber ducky here. Look at her cute little bum!

I'm gonna getcha now (she says to the rubber ducky)!

All right, I'll let you go...

Hey! Were you two watching me this whole time?

Kaylee was so cute in her warm PJs! She was very excited to see daddy when she woke up this morning (no work for daddy).

Doin' the splits!

Enjoy this video of Kaylee waking up!
