Cat Nap

What a week! We know for sure that Kaylee is growing because all she likes to do is eat! She definitely is keeping us on our toes. We're trying to get her on a better schedule now, so we're hoping to have some luck with that this week. But we sure do love our little girl! We took some candid shots of her this week during a little cat nap. Enjoy!

Bath Time & More

This picture of Kaylee sure did bring a smile to our faces! We sure did have a crazy week with Kaylee. From the diaper rash, to the visit from the lactation consultant to the mishaps on the diaper changing station (I think she's got a cannon down there!) we sure did have our hands full. Oh, and not to mention the lack of sleep (but we are doing better)! We hope that everyone enjoys the pictures that we took during the week of our precious little girl.

So we decided to give Kaylee a real bath this week. She did pretty well with the whole thing, only crying when we would move her around so we could get a better angle for washing.

Yes, those are bananas. We washed her right by the kitchen sink!

She has no idea what she's getting herself into! It's all part of the fun!

We can't wait for her to grow some more hair. We're not too fond of the bald old man look.

Kaylee's umbilical cord finally came off yesterday so we decided to go all out and give her a real bath with real water and everything. There was actually a rubber ducky in there too (along with some other little 'floaties') but we couldn't get a shot of him.

Kaylee did pretty good - she had to be on her best behaviour since grandma was there watching!

This is dad after he got back from taking Holly's car in to get the oil changed. It sure would be nice if we could sleep like her!

We're so happy that Kaylee likes riding in her car seat. Here she is after her doctor's appt. Friday. She's growing! She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz (Jared's birth weight) and is 19 3/4" long (she's grown almost 2 inches already). So we're happy that all is going well.

Mom just couldn't resist this outfit from Target the other day (plus, she really doesn't have anything that fits quite yet). Wouldn't you know it - we put it on her and two seconds later she spit up on it! Still looks cute on her though!

This is a baby picture of Jared. Hopefully Kaylee doesn't end up with cheeks like those! Holy cow, I think that they drug along the floor when I walked. Nice plastic diaper cover too!

Now that this tax season is over, we might as well look forward to next year!

Well Kaylee is working on two weeks now. We're not sure if her looks have changed much, but we are noticing that she is moving around a lot more (especially at feeding time :)).

This is Kaylee on her way to the doctor's office for her 1 week checkup (it was 1 week, 2 days). We weighed her when we got there, and thanks to a timely, messy diaper (a mixture of #1 & #2), she weighed in at 6 lbs 4 oz! So she has almost gained one pound already! Of course we don't know how much of that was the diaper, but we are happy that she is getting bigger in any case. The doctor looked her up and down and pronounced her "a beautiful, healthy baby," much to the delight of her parents. Onward and upward!

This is Kaylee with her great-grandparents Larry and Margie Flint. Needless to say, having four generations together at one time is so special and g-grma & g-grpa were on cloud 9 the whole time they were here visiting. It's amazing how many people you can get to come visit you when you have a new baby in the house (especially one as cute as Kaylee)! Ok, they did visit us before Kaylee too...

Holly, Kelly, and their mom all sat around yesterday looking at baby pictures of Holly comparing them to Kaylee...I think that she's got her mom's look! What do you think?

Kaylee Is One Week Old!

Hard to believe that one week ago right now, Holly and I were wondering when Kaylee would come. Little did we know how our lives were about to change! There have been plenty of wonderful moments since then (mixed in with some frutrating ones as well) but we are both just in love with little Kaylee!

Just one week old, but oh how cute! So so cute!

I have to thank my Auntie Kelly for my outfit today. Don't I look adorable in it? And the blanket that I'm sitting on? That's right. She made it too. Can't wait for her to come visit me again!

Hi Mom! Thanks for all you do for me! Sorry for being such a stinker last night (at 3:30 am). I'll see you again at midnight for some good food (and again at 3:00 am and 6:00 am too). I love you mom!

So here daddy is zonked out on the couch. He was so tired that mommy was able to put me on his chest, lift his arm up and put it around me and snap five or so pictures without him even knowing! I didn't know that I was that much work!

Daddy sure was surprised when he woke up and saw the candid pictures!

Fresh diaper! I wonder how many I've gone through in a week? 50? 60? 100 maybe?

But I feel so much better now...can't you tell!

I sure am glad that grandma Jan came to visit me today! I always sleep better when she's around.
