On the mend...

I just realized that our last post's topic wasn't very pleasant; well this one isn't either! Sorry!

On Friday night, Holly developed a pretty bad stomach ache. She started throwing up at around 6pm and just kept throwing up. So finally at 10pm, we decided to take a trip down the the hospital (Grandpa Ron stayed over with Kaylee). Of course, it was pretty busy (I mean it was a Friday night!). We didn't end up getting into a room until around midnight. They gave her a couple bags of IV, some anti-vomiting/nausea drugs and some pain killer. They never really determined what exactly caused it. But we left the hospital around 3:30am (pretty tired and worn out, as you could imagine) and headed home hoping to get some rest. Holly headed to bed, and before I left the house to go fill a prescription, I decided to check on Kaylee. What did I find? The poor little girl had thrown up too (who knows when) and had been sleeping in her vomit! Besides being quite stinky (literally), it was a very scary sight! She woke up to my "Oh my goodness!" and as soon as I picked her up, her stomach started convulsing as if she needed to throw up again. So I rushed her into the bathroom, but she couldn't get anything out. All the while, her little tummy was convulsing and I couldn't tell if she was choking or couldn't breathe or what. Double scary! Well, she ended up sleeping on daddy's shoulder the rest of the night in between the 3 or 4 more trips to the bathroom. It was quite sad!

Well, Kaylee's doing much better now. She got over it the next day. Holly's still not there all the way, but is doing better. Wow...what a weekend, huh?!

We can't leave on that note! We do have some cute pics to share. Here's Kaylee helping mommy clean the house! What a big (little) helper!

All right mom - where do you want me!

Those little dust bunnies don't stand a chance!

Ha ha! I got 'em!

Ouchers!

First off, we have to say Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers out there! And of course, we wish a very special one to our favorite mom - Holly! We love you so much and are so grateful for all you do for our family! XOXOXO!

So when did babies start having to get tested for lead poisoning? At one year old? All the toys from China I guess. So last week we took poor little Kaylee to get blood taken for this test and of course poor little daddy had to go in there are hold Kaylee while they 'tried' to take blood. Well, wouldn't you know it, they couldn't find her little vein! She was crying bloody murder and all the while daddy was bear hugging her so she couldn't move. I'm convinced it was much more traumatic for the daddy than it was for Kaylee, but I guess that's debatable (good thing she can't talk to tell me that I'm wrong!). So since they couldn't get blood last week, we had to take her to the hospital where they have people trained to take blood from babies. Yeah that's right! We had to put the daddy through the whole ordeal again! Well they had no luck with the first arm (I know - can you believe it!), and so they had to try again on her other arm (oh thank goodness it worked). So here's Kaylee showing you her battle wounds. She's got some bruises on her arms still. :( No fun! No fun at all!

It's a good thing that babies are so forgiving (or forgetful; I haven't figure out which yet). She was back to her happy, bubbly self later that day (much to the delight of her parents)!

And just to prove that she's still a happy baby...here are some clips of Kaylee enjoying walking (although she still needs to work on her balance...and it has improved since we filmed these videos)!

6 1/2 Little Teefers!

We took Kaylee to the dentist on Friday...I know, can't you believe it - the dentist? Her doctor recommended that we take her, so we said, "Sure, why not?" Well it turns out that Kaylee's mommy and daddy are doing an EGGCELENT job at taking care of her teeth. Eheh...I think that the visit was more for us than for Kaylee. They wanted to make sure that we knew not to give her a bottle before bed, not to give her real toothpaste etc. But I think that this is the coolest dentist's office I have ever seen!

Look at those little teefers!

She didn't even cry once. Here's her toy for being such a good girl.

We loved Kaylee's church dress today! Don't they look cute?!

I just love being a daddy! As the story in the picture tells, she's got me wrapped right around her little finger...

More random Kaylee cutes...
