Daddy's an old man...

This week was awesome! Jared turned 18 (again - at least that's what everyone kept telling him...) this last Wednesday. It was a great birthday. I got the BEST birthday phone call ever! You see, the day before, Kaylee learned how to say the word 'happy'. And so Holly and Kaylee called me on the phone at work and sung me happy birthday! Kaylee would say 'happy' and then Holly would sing a few words and then Kaylee would say 'happy' again etc. We got it on video later that day...

Then my co-workers took me out to lunch (yummy Mexican food). Then I came home and Holly and Kaylee gave me my present. The pics will tell the story...

Daddy opened up his present and saw some 'opera glasses', as they're called. These are his thoughts: "Interesting gift; cool, I guess..."

Kaylee like playing with them too (backwards, of course).

Upon further inspection of the gift bag (taped to the bottom) he found the real surprise...(check out that face!)

Tickets to the Suns-Lakers game for the next day! Jared was quite happy and pleasantly surprised! We had a blast going together.

Here's the almighty Staples Center in all its glory...

We were way up there (thus the opera glasses) but we didn't care! We had so much fun enjoying the night out together. Our only gripe was that two of the Suns star players were out with injury (Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire). Oh - and that the Suns suffered their worst defeat of the year! But at least the Lakers fans didn't get their free tacos! I don't know if that's a good thing; I guess we could have enjoyed them as well...

Here's a little Kobe-Shaq pic

Shaq at the free-throw line (always a surprise outcome)

Look at that happy couple! Thanks so much Dear! I'll always remember this one!

Craft Time!

Well we've actually been getting some rain down here in good ole So Cal! This is a good thing. Can't have sunny days everyday! ;-) But being cooped up in the house all day long...it can get a little challenging entertaining an almost-2-year-old, who never runs out of energy. Well, Holly pulled out the water colors this last week and Kaylee had a blast! She had tons of fun mixing all of the colors and painting Daddy a pretty picture. She's such a big girl!

Look at her...she's having so much fun!

Pretty pictures!

Here's Kaylee playing around with her 'friends' in her crib...

Kaylee was messing around one day and wanted to walk around in Mommy's shoes...so cute! Look at those little leggies!

We took a little family pic at Gramma's house last night...

Kaylee with a cute little smirk the other day...

And don't you just LOVE this little face! Can you imagine what she's thinking?!?

Potty Time!

Kaylee's been showing interest in going potty in the toilet lately. In fact, she's actually gone a couple of times in the real toilet. So we decided to jump on the opportunity and we bought her her own little potty this weekend. She's obsessed with it! She spent all Saturday afternoon with no diaper on, sitting on the potty...we're wondering if this was a good idea now. I'm sure that the newness will wear off soon, and then hopefully we'll be able to really start potty training her. But we had quite the time with her! Take a look at some pics...

Everyone needs a little bathroom reading material!

Excuse me! Can I get a little privacy here?!?

Here's Kaylee showing off her 'big girl' diapers (pull ups)...

It's been so long since we last posted that our pictures were starting to pile up. Here's Kaylee and her piggies having fun one afternoon...

She LOVES her dolly!

Styling with her shades...

I'm just one silly little girl!

She thought it was pretty fun to have her baby wrapped up in her blanky...

Merry Christmas!!!

What a wonderful Christmas we had this year. And it's over already?!? Wow, how the time does fly by. Well Santa made it out in full force this year. Between all the grandparents, aunts and uncles etc., I think that Kaylee must have tripled her toy supply. This is all good news as mommy and Kaylee should have plenty to play with for the foreseeable future. It sure was fun to watch Kaylee open her gifts this year. She kept wondering why she couldn't play with her new toys after she opened them, but she just had so many presents and we would have been at it all day long!

Her favorite gift by far was a "Baby and Me" dolly and stroller set. Her eyes lit up like Christmas lights the second she saw it! And she's been pushing it ever since. It's just the cutest thing to watch her and see how caring she is for her little baby.

She's such a good mommy to her baby. She feeds her...

and then burps her (and rubs her back)...

then makes sure she's ok...

and then off they go again!

She loves wearing her new shades too...

She received various art gifts also. She LOVES drawing and coloring.

And of course she got some new clothes too. Her auntie Kelly's friend got her this new sweater and some cute jeans to go with it.

Kaylee's Grandpa and Grandma Thomson bought this beautiful dress for her.

And here is Kaylee wearing her first pair of Christmas pajamas that she got from her Gramma (many more to come!)

Here's Kaylee and her cousin Tyler looking all festive together...

Here are some other random Christmas pics...
